Calotaip is an independent space for research on photo books, publishing and contemporary photography. Since 2019, from a deep passion for photography and the production of the book as an object and work of art. It aims to explore and offer a constantly updated view of production and independent publication of photo books, dummies and zines all over the world.
Calotaip pays tribute to William Henry Fox Talbot who in 1833 experimented with various methods to fix the image on a sheet of paper instead of on a silver plated copper support.
He called his invention Calotype.
